I had a very positive experience with WRCLS. Hemant was extremely helpful, patient, and professional. He listened carefully to my concerns regarding a lease issue with my property management company and guided me clearly through my options and the steps I could take. His advice helped me better understand my rights and gave me confidence in handling the situation. I would really like to understand what Waterloo Region Community Legal Services considers “help.” Their own website says they provide legal assistance ranging from summary advice and referrals to full representation, including assistance with tenancy issues. They also state that if they cannot help, they will try to refer people to someone who can. My experience was very different. I believe that this organization is confused on landlord tenant act. Those whom our staying at the encampment are tenants their homeless. They have no landlord and they don’t pay rent. Our taxes are pay for it. You can not and will use mental illness and addictions as an excuse I suffer with mental illness and had an addiction to alcohol for 15 years after my military career. 2015 I signed up for rehab and got clean and still sober.
