Very small units, very small kitchen, no efficient water drainage from the toilet, heating is not included so it can cost you up to 200-300/ month in winter, parking will cost another 125/ month. No central air conditioning system in the apartment so you are responsible to install AC, pay electric bills and an AC fee of 50 dollars to the landlord.
The Good: location, hardworking staff, clean building (yes washing machines are dirty sometimes, but that’s other tenants that don’t clean up after themselves), great party room, units are good size, bright, clean. Most tenants are nice, friendly people (but not everyone). The Bad: ugggh lots of FIRE ALARMS — often in the middle of night! Super annoying. No idea why this keeps happening. Worst building I've ever lived in. You won't get hot water half the time until you call and complain. Electric heaters barely give off any heat. Expect to wash out the washing machines and dryers yourself, because they can't be bothered. Machines are absolutely disgusting. This place is owned by slumlords who hide behind it's location, which is the only good thing. And to top it off, it's infested with Pharaoh Ants. I applied for 1 bedroom unit in this building. The caretaker (building manager) of the building is nice but the property management company Homestead is very unprofessional. There is no communication whatsoever after you make an application. It is very inconsiderate of them to not respond since we can not apply elsewhere until we find out about the outcome of our application. After several attempts of calling them and on the 8th day I had to go to the building and ask the caretaker what was happening with my application. He ... read more
