Went to the Fairmount Water Works on a Wednesday afternoon in the spring. Walked there from the parkway, no need to a reservation. This museum is a hidden gem in Philly, it has science, history and art free of cost. Lots of great interactive exhibits about water that are good for all ages. When I visited, they had the "Currents" exhibit by Philadelphia Sculptors. Very cool art installations and the chance to see the old pool area that is usually closed to the public.
