Mrs P My husband and I went there to celebrate our 1st year wedding anniversary this weekend and i have to say the food was not good at all. For appetizers we had shrimp cocktail which presentation of it was just bad and the shrimp was mushy. For our entrees i had the Filet Mignon and that was extremely dry and it didn't come with nothing. If i didn't order spinach which by the way was very very bitter and inedible i would just had a piece of meat for dinner. Water Works Restaurant has a great location. I went there for lunch. It was a beautiful day, so we were able to sit out on the breezy deck. Great view of boat house row, and the food was really good.
Beautiful views, but in dire need of new management. We had dinner at this restaurant while visiting Philadelphia last month. Wonderful location, great views, and a beautiful sunset, but they need new management -- and the sooner, the better. Something was really "off" when we ate there. For example, we ordered an appetizer that was supposed to include wasabi sorbet. It sounded exotic and fun, and that was the reason we ordered it. The Water Works `The Philadelphia community has waited a long time for the Water Works to be restored to its former glory. In that, the architects, contractors, builders, have made the wait worthwhile. The building has such architectural integrity, has been so lovingly preserved, & is so exquisite that it requires a visit simply to view the result of their efforts. The views of the river are gorgeous. The lights of the city add to the splendor. The proximity to the Art Museum (next door) is an added inducement.
