the wasteland, best store in santa monica basically one of the greatest stores. defintly low prices wich helps with the econimical deppression. id have to say id sleep with everyone that works there. cheers!
An Excellent Vintage Store Wasteland recently opened up in Santa Monica, and it has an incredible selection of vintage wear. Even though I am a guy, the selection of jeans as well as old fashioned sweaters gives me enough incentive to come every week. The prices are competitive with other stores, and the employees here are so helpful. PROS: Helpful Associates, Nice Dressing Rooms CONS: Some Things Can Be Expensive, Parking is hard to find
Rude Rude Rude uh, did i mention the sales staff was rude ? Kind of a strange feeling of intimidation when dealing with the snotty staff, especially when taking into consideration this is a store full of USED clothes!
Depends on what you are looking for This isn't really your average thrift shop, but more of a vintage shop. If you want a thrift shop with contemporary clothing, go to Crossroads (Santa Monica and Broadway). I think the prices are a bit high for the quality, and I find a lot of the staff intimidating, maybe because they are clearly much more fashion-conscious than I am. the best resale store in la first of all, wasteland is a RESALE store. it is NOT a thrift store. the prices are unbelievable when compared to retail! of course most of the clothes are used. that is the point. that's why you can pick up YSL shoes for a fraction of the price. this store is beloved by stylists, fashion designers, and the generally fashion conscious. the buyers are mostly very knowledgeable and careful to pick out fashion forward as well as trendy items. if you want to spend $10 on your outfit and don't care wha... read more
Wastland in Santa Monica recently opened. I do have to say that is has a lot better of a selection of vintage clothing then the melrose store. However, that means the buyers are very picky. So when trying to sell my own clothing there, they take nothing. And some of the employees are a little rude. However, it is a great way to waste some time rumaging through great vintage finds. You can park in the public garage right next store on 4th street.
By any Other Name? Interesting window displays, but I have to agree with the other reviewers. Last time I checked, the clothes were still used - Vintage by any other name is still that: used. Check your prices!
employee Gina is RUDE!!!!!! One girl named Gina acted like she was doing me a favor by letting me in the dressing room. When I hesitated she gave me a dirty look for no other reason than I hesitated. It left such a bad taste in my mouth I did not buy a thing. I spent money here before but with that attitude, I'll go up the street to Crossroads.
vintage stuff ummm not a big fan of this store. I feel like the clothing is too expensive and the staff running it can be a bit much. if your looking to thrift shop try a local one this store is just not worth it.
