I was very surprised to read PJ's comments about Dr. Menolascino and Mitch. Dr. M is the best Psychiatrist I've ever had. She is kind and sincere and very concerned about my well-being. She was the first doctor to correctly diagnose several conditions I've had for 30 years. Her use of genetic markers to diagnose the correct family of medication is far ahead of any other doctor I've seen. My experience with Dr. Menolascino was the worst I’ve had with any physician. The three main reasons are below. But in summary, they: lie about the uniqueness of their approach in order to justify expensive tests that do not alter the course of treatment, demean other trained medical professions to bolster their own sense of self worth, and perhaps worst of all: mistake their own ignorance for expertise. Dr. Menolascino is a kind, insightful, and innovative physician. I can say without any reservations -- and without dramatizing it -- she has saved my life. I have been with her for twenty years. I suffer from a profoundly stubborn and painful mental illness. She has been the essential weapon in my fight -- to quell it and to approach life in the healthiest and steadiest way possible.
