I've been a patient for 15+ years. I have chronic dry eye, meibomian gland dysfunction, and wear glasses. Dr. Caimano and staff have always been friendly, courteous and helpful. I feel that the doctor's straightforward, no- nonsense approach is very professional and he always takes the time to explain what he's seeing when he examines my eyes and goes over the texting results. He and his staff are wonderful, and I wouldn't want to have any other doctor for my eyes!
I went there because I can't see. I have blurry vision do to my diabetes. I've improved my A1c and had follow up appt. still can't see and got no help. So my prescription stayed the same. So I call to get script and they want me too pay and get examined again. What a rip off. It's all about money with these people. I will never go there again. Avoid this establishment if you want to keep your money.
Business response:
It's wonderful that your A1C improved. Eyeglass prescriptions fluctuate with uncontrolled blood sugar. If your A1C was 7.0 or less, we can offer you a refraction. There is a 50 dollar fee for that. The medical insurance does not cover this. You should not need another exam with Dr. Caimano (so not another co-pay/office visit charge). If you have vision insurance, perhaps you can turn your 50 dollar receipt into that company for reimbursement. I hope this helps and you're seeing better.
Very timely, no waiting for hours. Excellent
Dr Caimano's staff is just plain RUDE! The office manager has a smart mouth along with the girl who checks people in. When I sign to refuse not wanting my eyes dilated at check in, I'm not sure what part the office manager didn't understand since my appt was for dry eyes. I was also told by the office Mgr that even if I had my eyes checked I still would not get a dry eye script because my insurance would not pay for it. (I already knew my Obamacare doesn't pay for most prescriptions & had no problem with that). She also said... read more
Wonderful Dr and staff! My family and I have been going to him for several years. He is so easy to talk to and answers all of our questions. Would highly recommend him.
My review of Dr. Caimano is not favorable. It is also an opinion of others I know. I went to him for an exam and my ins. was charged. I was then referred to a specialist. I saw the specialist and went back to Dr. C for another test. My ins. was again charged. I then went to get my "written prescription" for my eyeglasses. I was then charged an additional $30 for them to write that down. After I complained, his office girl "Jolene" called me today and berated me for complaining. NEVER AGAIN!!
Dr Caimano is excellent. I can not say as much for his staff. I was deceived as to how much out of pocket expense would be needed and quite frankly I was not prepared for the total cost. I needed the services so I paid to receive them but I caution any prospective patients not to rely on anything his staff tells you with regards to total out of pocket costs. I can not speak for anyone but myself but they were not upfront at all with me and after the fact denied they told me anything. BEWARE!
Business response:
There is no way for our staff to tell you in advance what your out of pocket expense will be. Co-pays are listed on YOUR insurance card. This office bills Medical Health Insurance only. Medical Insurance plans do not cover a prescription for eye glasses. This procedure is called a refraction. Medicare deems it a non-covered expense. It is routine Vision Care. We also send out a New Patient Packet which provides this information in advance of your first appointment.
Saw me right away. Everyone helpful and friendly
