This place is so cool!! It houses ill and injured soldiers who are being released from active duty due to various circumstances. Each warrior gets a cottage to call home. They are given the ability to get enrolled in college or a tradeschool,to play wheelchair basketball as well as hunt and fish. they are close enough to Balboa Naval hosp so they can get to and from appointments, they are mentored and guided all along the way! We just received a info-card in the mail sharing an exciting tradition we were unaware of. "Send a Warrior Home for the Holidays". Donate to enable our brave and courageous men and women to fly our ill and recovering troops home for the Holidays. We are in our 70's, we have no children and extended family have more than they will ever appreciate.
