Nice rooms and service but food extremely disgusting, every single time

I don’t know where to begin… from the moment we walked into the lobby, it was surreal. I’ve been a Diamond member for years and never really thought about the overall status impact. In all reality, I don’t think our experience was about the status… The entire group of employees from the bell hop to the front desk to room service was amazing! We had such a wonderful stay at Waldorf Astoria Chicago for our anniversary. From the moment we arrived, everyone made us feel genuinely welcomed. A special thank you to Demi Devaux at the front desk. She has one of the warmest, brightest smiles, and every interaction with her made us feel valued. She was incredibly kind, attentive, and patient, fulfilled every request we had, and was especially sweet and welcoming to our baby. Very nice hotel rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the concierge was very nice. Main and only complaint is with the complementary shuttle service. It says they have a 1 mile radius for drop off and the location I was going to was 1.3 miles away and it was pouring raining and we got dropped off on the corner. That was literally a two minute drive from where we needed to go. Ended up walking which turned an extra two minutes if that to a 6-8minute walk in the pouring rain…
