I filed a complaint and wrote 2 reviews regarding the Wake Med Raleigh campus four months after my father was hospitalized there (and after his death). My father, who was 100% bed-ridden, had his cell phone taken by hospital staff when they changed his sheets. Initially, staff admitted they lost the phone, and they initially agreed to pay for or replace the lost phone. Later, however, hospital staff backed down from that statement and actually told us, "Sorry your father died. But we are not responsible for his phone." ... read more
My 81-year-old father was a patient at Wake Med hospital. He has since passed away, but when he was in the hospital, he was 100% bed-ridden. He could not even sit up by himself. Prior to this illness, he had never been sick before in his life. This was his first hospitalization. He was afraid, and my mother stayed with him most of the time. RecommendedThe best treatment you can think of. I had my boy who is now 9 years old at this hospital and time to time when I think about my experience it makes me forget about the labor pain that I endured. The nurses and doctor are so caring, nice and efficient.
I could never recommend this hospital. They cost my daughter her life at not even 5 hours old. Tried to blame my husband and I. They never paid any attention to her but had to request help from Duke and UNC. When they realized they couldn't help her once they did pay attention to her. I wouldn't recommend anyone go here. They are the worst hospital in the state.
They treated us like second class citizens. Our daughter was admitted to a room after an emergency surgery. The actual surgery went very well. Once she was admitted to a room, everything went drastically downhill. From the time she ordered her dinner, it took over two hours to get it. AND, the grilled sandwich and potato wedges were room temp. When I requested new food, it took over 1 1/2 hours to get it. The next morning, she ordered her food and it took over two hours again. The front liners are all amazing and so caring doing their best and extra miles in everything they do 24/7. I almost forgot that we are In the midst of this epidemic, so much happiness and love from all of the staff.
