Quick and easy! Staff is personable and eager to help
Dr. Wade is an incredibly professional and competent doctor. I always know he has my best interests in mind and goes out of his way to make sure I understand what is happening, the potential methods of treatment and likely outcomes. The fact that he also suffers from MS makes him that much more credible. I would recommend him to anyone.
I had my first visit to Mandela Clinic and Dr. Wade last week. He made feel very comfortable and relaxed during that visit. He conducted several tests and explained why he was doing each. That was very enlighting to me since my former doctor did none of that. During this time Dr Wade explained about the testing that I would be scheduled for me and discussed possible medications upon completion of my testing. I finally felt that someone cared about me and my struggle with MS.
I appreciate Dr. Wade, as does my husband. He's extremely knowledgeable. He's been caring for me for 10 years, and it's the best MS care I've received in the past 15 years in which I've had MS. He keeps up-to-date on all MS research. If your current treatment isn't working he'll work with you to figure out the best one for you. Dr. Wade wasn't our first MS Neurologist, but he will be our last! (He just has to work forever!)
Being that he have Multiple Sclerosis for 40 years. It's comforting to talk to him because he totally gets it!!!!!! He has a great sense of humor and he's very smart!!! Easy to talk to.
I have been going to Dr. Wade for about 12 years. I do believe he is competent and knowledgeable. However once you get to know him, you will learn that he has a very dry sense of humor which I am sure some patients don,t appreciate nor feel that it is appropriate at an office visit. If you want a soft , feeling good kind of Dr., he may not be the Dr. For you. However, if you are looking for an experienced Dr. with a vast knowledge of MS, he may be the Dr. For you.
Dr. Wade can have a dry sense of humor but he really understands what those of us with MS are going through. He has a vast wealth of knowledge about MS and other neurological problems. He will not coddle you or throw you a pity party, instead he will tell you the truth and give you all the info so you can make your own medical decisions.
I would not recommend Dr. Wade. I left his appointment feeling very discouraged and very negative about my future with MS. The majority of your appointment will be about him and his bitterness about MS. He has every right to be angry about this illness but your appointment is not an appropriate place for him to talk about this rather than help you. When you say any symptom you have he will respond with we all have that and will not offer any recommendations.
