The ownership is not the same, the vibe is not the same, this place just makes us miss the real VZD's.
I took my mother there on Valentine's day the service was terrible. The sad thing about it wasn't even busy, the people that got there 20 minutes after us got there food first and we got our food it was cold. I was disappointed with my experience.
We had a great waiter but the atmosphere was kind of chilly. Didn't feel very comfortable
This is a great venue for music and entertainment. There have been some impeccably genuine bands and singers perform at VZD's. This includes REM, Chili Peppers, Little Charlie and the Nightcats, Dishwalla, Ambassador Bill, and Chloe Day just to name a few artists. This place in Oklahoma City is a classic landmark. The food is good too serving traditional American comfort cuisine which includes hamburgers, salads, and nachos. VZD's is a great place to hang out, socialize, and partake in genuine entertainment.
What happened to the medicine cabinets? Wasn't VZD's named after "Veazey Drug"? So if all the drug store stuff is gone, why would they call it VZD's?
I came to the new "VZD's" recently. I really wanted to support it. I wanted to see the good, and not focus on the bad. I tried to overlook all the "sports bar" TVs. I wanted to ignore the loss of the famous stage. I even tried to pretend like the missing medicine cabinets didn't bother me. Last but not least, I tried to overlook the fact that chad had been tossed by the wayside. I tried to do all these things, but I failed.
It's really disappointing to see TVs stuck everywhere, even embedded in the antique glass cabinets. One of the things I liked about VZDs was the fact that you could hear yourself think and hang out with friends in a cool old location without the constant distraction of TVs everywhere. Now it's just another sports bar, as if we didn't have a million of those here already. You might as well just go to Applebee's.
Best food I've ever eaten. This food is better than any other food I have ever eaten. 10 out of 10. Hands Down best food in OKC. Great service.
