I've been a client of VOA Quincy for years and the quality of their clinical service has really gone downhill. They no longer actively prioritize client care like they used to, which was at the time really exceptional. It seems that the recent changes in upper administration has put client needs dead last of concern at Volunteers of America.
Horrendous patient care. Went there for medication maintenance followed all their procedures through out the month ie counseling 2 times per week. When it came time to receive my medication that I have been on for 20 years I had a zoom appointment with Dr. Dixon. She prescribed all different medications. After taking the medications Dr. Dixon prescribed I ended up in the ER
I was treated with kindness and compassion! I had left VOA a month ago because my wonderful counselor had moved on, and I went to another agency for help , but after 5 weeks I still had no treatment plan and no referrals were made, (even though I complained of intrusive thoughts and let the counselor know I had previously been in prison for beating a man to death dur ing one of these PTSD episodes!!
