Not so great pizza and not so great service – My husband and I went to Vito's a few weeks ago. When we got there, it took a little while to get seated which was fine because the bartender (I think his name was Charlie) had to seat us and he was finishing up waiting on a patron at the bar. He seated us outside per our request and said that our server (I think he said her name was Rachel) would be right with us to take our order. Well, we didn't see Rachel the rest of the night until I forced her to come to our table by reques... read more

Great food at reasonable prices! Wait staff is not the best. They seem mad that they have to work. Pizza is great, lasagna is fabulous!

Cool place, great pizza! – My boyfriend and I heard Vito's had great pizza so we gave it a try and ordered the Capriciosa pizza which had prosciutto, portabello mushrooms, tomatoes, and fresh basil. It was absolutely awesome! My boyfriend ordered the Meatball Spaghetti which was also spectacular and I thought he was going to lick the bowl clean. Our server recommened a great Sicilian red wine that complimented our meal very well. We will definitely be back!

Don't order a panini... – ... after 5p.m. My husband and I ordered two for delivery and we were completely underwhelmed to find that our "paninis" were sandwiches on regular white toast - not grilled and not pressed. When I called to complain, I was told that they don't "fire up the panini press in the evenings." After an exchange about the order and expectations for a panini, the gentleman offered to credit my credit card for one of the sandwiches. The rest of the order, which included my friends' calzones, was very good. H... read more

Cu e fissa sta a so casa. – Yes, this place is busy and the wait staff is uninformed about what is on the menu and what wines pair well with the entreés. I'll grant you that. However, if you're looking for a decent representation of the cuisine of Sicilia, Vito's is the place to go. The pizza is similar to what I get in Palermo, and is just as good. The arancini are excellent, even though they're a bit different from what I expected. Overall, going to Vito's is a lot like dining in Palermo, Siracusa, Catania, or Messina -- i... read more

Sicilian? Really??? – First time here. Once we walked into the door, we were not acknowledged for maybe 4 minutes, (we got there right before it got busy, usually you are greeted at the door...) we were standing there wondering if we should seat ourselves or...stare at the presumed hostess, while he answered the phone? No smile or anything. So we sat at the bar and bartender was good (Shaun). Drinks were good. Ambiance was good, nice lighting. Food was terrible. Had the four course dinner, app (stuffed cheese balls with pine... read more

Try this place – This place was ok... not bad... I would recommend it only because I have tried other places in St Louis and most are not good at all... so this place I would normally rate at a 6/10 but in St Louis I would give it a 8/10. Had lasagna - was pretty good. Garlic bread needs more butter but nice bread. The Gelato is delicious - authentic! Customer Service on phone was good.

I'd go back for the pizza. – The pizza, seems to default to thick (Sicilian-1in) style when dining and the thinner version (1/2inch at the bar) , but you can request your choice. Personally I prefer the thinner style, the Sicilian was a little doughy. Personally, this has been my preferred pizza in st Louis so far, freshly made sauces still recognizable as made from farmed ingredients, with toppings such as goat cheese spinach and andouille sausage. On the downside, the service was poor, ridiculously over attentive, with big... read more

If you want good Italian look elsewhere – I went to this restaurant under the advice of friends and won't be back. We had hour before an event at the Fox and the waiter assured us we had plenty of time. The server made sure to get our drink & food order but we didn't see any drinks arrive until they brought out the salads. One of our salads was missing the dressing which the waiter had acknowledged but i had to get for myself as he was unable to correct the problem- he was too busy waiting on more tables of new guest. Meanwh... read more
