For the most part it was positive. Except for a social worker calling me, who had not bothered to read my family member's file and knew nothing about the case. A chaplain who would not shut up, talked over me and tried to lecture me about a religion that was not his own. And not respecting my mother's wishes or the family.

Day 1: Heavy-handed sales pitch. Unfortunately, social worker/sales agent (worrying more about tech problems and less about learning about our needs) gave us no heads up that— 9 hours later at the end of an incredibly long and emotional day—a nurse would show up and take an hour to assess whether or not our mother actually qualified for care. Strike 1. Day 2: Officially transferred to hospice care under Vitas. Zero contact; zero change in care from what she is already been receiving for the last 3 weeks at the nursing home. ... read more
Thank you Vitas for all your help and kindness in helping with the transition of our sweet mother. Every nurse has been so helpful and compassionate. We couldn’t have done this without you all and gave us some much needed rest to adjust and just be with her at her end. Thank you from all of her 7 children.
