My experience at the mobile blood bank in El Dorado was very distressing. The phlebotomy itself was poorly handled. I was poked multiple times, which resulted in a large hematoma and significant bruising. Ultimately, they were unable to draw an adequate amount of blood for donation because the vein stopped flowing and appeared to clot after repeated attempts. I'm on the schedule for donating and want to help my community. Interestingly, though, I see that we donate blood and the CEO makes over one million dollars a YEAR. I feel less altruistic about donating blood now.

Donated Red Blood Cells. Staff was outstanding. - Blood donation centers need smart tv's so blood donors can watch comedy or interesting programs. this can be helpful in distracting from the process/thought of having to be poked with a needle. Thanks

Not a good experience. I donated blood last Wednesday at their Rodeo Rd location in Santa Fe. When the technician inserted the needle, she then moved it to more to the middle of the arm, which seemed odd. After she unhooked me and took the needle out, blood started coming out fast and I had a knot the size of a golf ball where the needle was. She must have hit either my brachial or radial artery.
