Our practice had been using a local based shredding company for years. VRC bought them out and after a few months more than doubled their rates and instituted a monthly fee. They are extremely difficult to work with and only want to have you on an expensive monthly schedule. As a small practice we don't need monthly shredding service and it's wasteful to be sending a truck every month for partial bins. If you are a small business DO NOT use VRC. They bought out our previous shredding company, but kept the pricing rate and structure the same for several months. Due to inflation, they doubled rate. I can see paying more as everyone's costs are rising. However, in addition to DOUBLING the rate, they changed their pickup structure to once per month. Our office was on a per-quarter pickup schedule. They increased our annual shredding expense by $900 and refused to deviate from the once per month schedule. This is not a feasible... read more

We switched to Vital Records Control about 18 months ago after having issues with another local shredding company. Our small business generates a fair amount of shredding about every other month. I never have a problem with scheduling. Stephanie, who handles that piece via email, is always very responsive and willing to work with our schedule for pickups. Today, we had called for a 60 box pickup and when Jake and Josh arrived, we had 100+ boxes that needed to go plus 2 full bins. They were here just as promised this morning,... read more
