As close as I can tell, every single person who works for this organization is an actual Earth Angel. They were amazing and patient and giving. The day my dad died I called them 10 times (I just checked the call log) and the last time I broke down in tears and asked if they could send someone out bc we needed help. Of course, they said. Mom had late stage dementia, and I wanted her to spend her final days at home with me, her caregiver, not at a skilled nursing facility. VNA hospice made that possible. The nurses and staff were professional, competent, and caring. They not only explained to me what was happening to Mom, but also why it was happening. This helped me to accept mom's passing, and to understand that I had done everything possible to make her last days comfortable for her.
Employment Perspective: These are genuinely hard working, caring people at LSL VNA Hospice. It is a great place to learn and grow in skills of communication, coordination, and patient care. If you have a personality that likes something a little different everyday and making an impact on lives in a vulnerable time, pray about it and maybe get outside of your comfort zone. I've been here 4 + years and counting.
Old rundown building. The donation events held are mainly used to line the pockets of upper management. How else do you think they get their Xmas bonuses. Certain people in administration there making 200k a year yet they can't make enough money to buy supplies and have the lights on.
