I’ve been working with Visiting Angels since 2013 when I retired as a registered nurse. The job was a perfect fit for me! I can continue working with clients, providing a professional level of service by following a personalized care plan unique to each persons lifestyle or needs. It pains me to write this honest review, but I feel compelled to warn others about how negligent the owner of the West Essex NJ agency is, in vetting and training her staff. She is also disorganized and unreliable. The company describes their services as "light housekeeping, assistance with bathing & meals + companionship". They ARE NOT supposed to bring an elderly person outside, on a hot day TO GARDEN because the caregiver has run out of things to keep herself entertained! One of the caregivers did this, which resulted in ... read more

This agency does simple care and are basically companions. They are unable to transfer patients when extremely weak. The aide we loved was away and we were told we should find another agency since no one could help us.

I spoke with Tina about possible care options for my mother. She called to get my information on July 4 and promised to let me know about care options early the next week. I never heard from her. I followed up and left a message on July 15; no response. I reached out to two other alternative care agencies. Both have been very responsive and helpful. We will establish care through an alternative company.
