My dog had a nasty corneal ulcer that did not heal after basic treatment. His vet recommended Vision Care for Animals, and I couldn’t be happier. My dog hates the vet, but they were so gentle, kind, and loving that he was as calm as he could be on their table. I am not happy with Vision Care for Animals' lack of price transparency. For my first visit a couple of years ago in 2023, it was clear that there was a hefty one-time initial exam fee of $365 and that follow-up visits would be $145. I was concerned about the prices being expensive, but I wanted to make sure I did my best to address my dog's eye problems. My dog recently had a small eyelid margin mass removed (meibomian gland adenoma) at a different veterinary office. The vet placed two sutures on her eyelid, but the top suture was very close to her eye and may have caused an abrasion and a small pinhole on her cornea. After four follow-up visits, the vet recommended a corneal debridement to aid healing. However, I wasn’t fully convinced why that was needed, so I requested a referral to an eye specialist.
