I have been a patient of Dr Malik's for a few years. He is the best colonoscopy Dr I've had. He is friendly and above all a great Dr. He is passionate about his work. He has a good memory of who you are and you issues and he cares. I've also been treated by him for severe reflux and here?
Dr. Malick is by far the best Gastro Dr. in the area. After being shuffled around to different dr’s in other practices, He not only identified the problem, he made a diagnosis and referred me to a very good surgeon out of the area. When things escalated to a critical level, he came in to the hospital on his day off and was able to stabilize me and he personally coordinated me to be flown to a hospital in Richmond for emergency surgery. He literally saved my life. I was impressed with him before all of this. He is honest, fai... read more
Bad experience from beginning to end. Assistance in office is weak. First off our meds were not even ordered for 10 days after they were to be. After weeks of taking meds not a cure. Not the really correct med was given. Ego?? Anyway, another weeks of new correct med from a much more knowlegdeable source. Two anesthesiogists for a routine procedure. Not happy
Business response:
Thank you for your feedback regarding your experience with our practice. We apologize if you felt that our front office wasn't helpful. Our priority is always taking care of the patient and his or her needs. During procedures, there is 1 CRNA or nurse anesthetist and 1 anesthesiologist, which is standard of care at hospitals. You may have mistaken the CRNA to be an anesthesiologist. We welcome you to contact us and let us how we can improve our process and answer any questions you may have.
I was totally disappointed in the visit and the lack of professionalism The P.A was not knowledgeable about basis things she was on the phone asking for the Dr. advice on medication so why am I being seen by someone that is not knowledgeable. I will never come back to the business again It was a awful experience and a waste of money and time. Some information is on line and if we can research and find out your P.A should be well versed and more caring. I will never return.
Business response:
Thank you for your feedback. We, like many practices, use NPs some use PAs to offer patients timely appointments. For ALL patients, our Nurse Practitioners consult with the doctor to advise on the optimal approach. This is to provide the best patient care during the patient's visit. Some practices may offer a PA/NP advice without doctor input. We do not. Please, free feel to contact our office to discuss your concerns and questions.
Happy New Year to all. Well, it's that time again three years have passed, and I am DREADING, not having Dr, Mailk, do my procedure. I have to find someone in the office that some how be as compassionate as Dr. Mailk. Always made me feel comfortable, He understood, I had bad anxiety and he always assure me, I will be fine. How you are missed Sir,. If I were not a care giver for my parents, I would find someone to take me from Norfolk. He is a wonderful Doctor.
Good Dr he was a good help to me hope what he did helped only time will tell he is a nice man
He was a very nice doctor who cares about his patients.
BEWARE of BILLING! I saw Dr. Malik for "routine colonoscopy screening", fully covered by my insurance policy as "preventative service". HOWEVER, I was billed for a diagnostic outpatient procedure charging me $294.28 after insurance. Office refused to correct their billing code and Lisa, billing rep. was very rude and said 'you're just going to have to deal with it'. HE WILL NOT CHANGE THE BILLING CODE. I WAS TOLD getting a routine colonoscopy prior to proc. Filing an appeal with Ins. co.
Worst experience of my life - last case and he was running late. Treated like a piece of meat. Bruises on abdomen. He rushed off afterwards - showed photos to my spouse but not me as I was in PACU. I'm offended that he would give more info to lay spouse not patient w 20 yr medical background. No followup call post screening colonoscopy procedure to check on patient status.
Business response:
We have reached out to MJ (phone and letter) to express our concern, compassion for their feeling of hurt, and explore why they felt this way. Unfortunately, no response. We asked for an independent review. Allegations found untenable. The procedure was done at the scheduled time. The staff recalled no negatives during their care. I had seen them in PACU before seeing their spouse. Amnesia is common after anesthesia. Quality, Compassion and Integrity are my motto. I am sorry for your pain MJ.
