RecommendedWe were visiting town and stumbled upon Virgilio’s and so happy we did! Absolutely delicious Italian sandwiches on amazing Italian bread. Desserts were phenomenal! The staff was prompt and friendly. Highly recommended.
I got a Lobster dessert and Turkey sub - they were very good and looking forward to my next visit.
It’s our family’s favorite sandwich place to go. We’ve never had a bad sandwich! Authentic old school Italian menu.
Fabulous food and baked items. Get the St. Joseph’s! Yummmm. Fresh baked breads. Friendly staff. I’d drive a half hour just to eat lunch there again. Ya won’t regret it!

Amazing Bread and other Goodies Oh YUM! I would always go into Virgilio's with my friend from Middle School, since her family worked there, and I would get special treats! If you want amazingly delicious warm and fresh bread and other goodies, then this is the place for you! YUM!!!
Bread is the best! This tucked away store on the Main Street in Gloucester produces the most yummy bread on the planet. You must get there early before they sell out. I love the local feel to this shop, too. A true Italian delight!
Authentic Italian Bakery and Deli Feels like your in theNorth End. Grammy Doris always orders a huge bag of their rolls for Chrismas Eve to make little linguica sandwiches. Best kept secret, they make sandwiches to go. Always get the eggplant, comes on a big crusty roll to mop up all the juice. A must see next time you're in the area. Don't miss this place!
