Fabulous dining experience – I have eaten here with friends three times, and every time I love my meal. The wine selection is very interesting, the pumpkin ravioli is my favorite, and the appetizers are quite good too. Good service. Expensive but a unique treat.

Great food – The food here is great, not your average North End meal. I also like the uniqe decor and attentive wait staff. Very nice wine list.

World's Worst Customer Services – Four of us went on an uncrowded Sunday night. We were one of five tables yet it took 30 minutes to receive our one appetizer of calamari. Our entrees took over an hour and when we complained to the waiter, he told us to relax and be patient! When we asked to speak to the manager, he told us to there wasn't one. The food was great, but unfortunately, we had a terrible dinner ruined by our overbearing rude waiter! When you spead $200 on dinner, you expect to be treated with respect! Unbelievab... read more

Made a reservation with the owner for 16 people for a suprise party. When we arrived the owner informed us that we had to be out in 2 hours as the restaurant has a two-hour reservation policy. I explained to the owner that he hadn't told me that ahead of time and that for 16 people celebrating, 2 hours was not a lot of time. The owner proceeding to scream at me about how I was wrong, etc. As he got louder and closer to my face I asked him to stop screaming. When he wouldn't I said, "Fine then we will all leave." His response... read more

Very impressive dining experience – We chose Monica's somewhat on a whim, and I'm glad we did. It was a rainy Wednesday and the north end was not packed with visitors, which made for a better overall experience. We were seated at a window seat and had the restaurant to ourselves. Even though I walk Richmond st quite often, I'd never really noticed Monica's, which is almost directly above the entrance to the Callahan tunnel. The bruschetta, lobster raviolli and pollo saltimbocca were all outstanding. The waiter was attentive,... read more

Terrible..! – The most uncomfortable experience I have ever had. For a table of 6, our order consisted of 4 entrees, a $27 bottle of wine, and 3 appetizers. Apparently we were not spending enough money. Before long, our waiter continued to scold us on the rules, mentioning that it is an entree per person on the weekends. When I asked for a table, I specifically mentioned that we had six people, four for dinner, two for drinks and appetizers. Had the hostess mentioned this in the beginning, the whole episode could have been a... read more

Evenig at Monica's – Monica's had very prompt seating in the early evening, boasts a very attentive wait staff; they even offer to hang up our coats and wraps instead of us draping them over a chair. Our waiter was helpful in suggesting a wine from Monica's extensive & expensive wine list; he also patiently explained the many specials of the evening. We had fresh appetizer salads and great antipasta. The shock came with the bill, with its overpriced specials. We had ordered two. They averaged $8-$10 more than many other entr... read more

A North End Gem – We were six at dinner at Monica's and had an outstanding dining experience. Husband/wife owners were quite a team. She ran the front end with great care. He ran the back end with incredible competence. We were demanding diners (e. g. 2 of us were late; we were ordering all the time). Waiter was more than up to the challenge we posed. Food was outstanding, and, we felt, a very good value for the dollar. Place was immaculate. Valet parking was quite convenient (slow retrieval, though, but they cheerfully refu... read more
