Just wanted to respond to the previous comment, when the doctor said, “you’re too poor to pay out of pocket, basically.” This doctor is hilarious
I called this office intending I’d pay out of pocket since I didn’t think he’d take my insurance. But I still decided to ask just in case he does. I was told by the doctor himself that it is “by law” that Medi-Cal patients are not allowed to pay for any health services out of pocket. When I questioned that, the psychiatrist himself responded, “You’re too poor to pay out of pocket, basically.” That was not only rude, but it proved his lack of knowledge regarding insurance, which is necessary—especially if you’re running a med... read more
