This popular old-time Italian restaurant attracts tourists and locals looking for a taste of Little Italy's past. Offering good, standard fare at modest prices, outstanding service and the type of throwback ambiance one can only find in an old building like this one, it is a rare bargain for New York. Outdoor and sidewalk seating are available. Pastas like ravioli and linguine with shrimp are featured, as well as calamari, soft-shelled crab and scungilli (conch). Vincent's rich red sauces, especially one with garlic and oreg... read more

GONE DOWNHILL IN THE LAST 2 MONTHS – THE FIRST 4 TIMES WE WENT, WE HAD A PHENOMENAL EXPERIENCE...BUT THEN AGAIN, WE KEPT GETTING THE SAME WAITER. WE WENT BACK AGAIN 2 WEEKS AGO ON A SUNDAY AND GOT THIS NASTY OLD MAN FOR A WAITER. IGNORED US (CUZ WE WERE ONLY A TABLE OF 4) AND PROCEEDED TO FALL ALL OVER HIMSELF TO SERVE A LARGER TABLE. I UNDERSTAND HE WORKS ON TIPS. BUT WOULDN'T IT HAVE MADE MORE SENSE TO GET US WHAT WE NEEDED FIRST SINCE THERE WERE ONLY 4 OF US AND GOT US OUT OF THERE SO HE COULD CONCENTRATE ON HIS BIGGER TA... read more
Wow, has this place gone downhill – So I started dating a new girl and when she mentioned going to Little Italy I figured I would impress her with my favorite restaurant there. I have loved the sauce there for so long and have introduced so many to this place but has it ever changed. All she wanted as fettucini with hot sauce, the waiter said they could not give her that. Why, pasta and sauce in an Italian restaurant?? When we convinced him this should be do-able he then took my order of shrimp parm and left with a scared lo... read more
Great Deserts!!! – From the top! We just happened upon this place while cruising out of China Town into Little Italy. The inside is pure retro! Service was fast and very friendly. The restaurant is located on a corner so we sat near a window to people watch. We ordered off the lunch menu - meatball sub (it could easily feed 2) and fried shrimp with pasta sauce. Both dishes were fresh and satisfying. Bread with a flavored olive oil was brought before the meal ? the best we had during our 7-day trip. Even the Parmesan cheese i... read more
Pricey, disgusting Italian – My husband and I ate here last week for our second anniversary. We had been dying to eat here for a long time since we love and use their tomato sauce frequently. What a disappointment! I ordered a lobster tail with mussels, clams and shrimp over a bed of linguine and my husband ordered shrimp parm. The two of us took a few bites and just looked at each other in disgust. How could their tomato sauce be so gross when the stuff they sell in a jar in any supermarket tastes so good is beyond me. My l... read more
Nothing special – I went to Little Italy twice while in NYC. Was very happy with my first nights meal and very disappointed with the second nights - at Vincents. I've had traditional Italian cooking from my parernts all my life and have been to Italy and it seems this place felt all you needed was to serve food in Little Italy for it to be 'Italian'. I do not recommend it. Nothing seemed fresh. Bland bread, the lightest olive oil ever and kraft like parmesan. Service was decent but the pricing was the same as the gem I went ... read more
A legend – I have been going to this italian restaurant since i was 5 years old! My family and I love it. The linquini and shrimp is truly delicious! You get a choice of the spicy level, I always choose the highest. The fried calamari is also very tasty. Service is great, and prices are moderate.
Horrible, Horrible, Horrible – We recently went to the "famous" Vincent's as our finale to a spectacular NYC trip...boy were we disappointed! The food was awful, the sauce tasted like it was burned, my veal was actually so over cooked that it curled up at the edges... you could get better garlic bread in a freezer case at the supermarket. Our food arrived so quickly that I was certain that it had been sitting around all day. In some reviews people mentioned that the other cafe's in Little Italy "don't look authentic"...I can... read more
Great Food/ – I remember going to Vincent's since I was about 4yr old and have gone ever since! My family went there every time we visited NYC. Friends from all over the world have gone there with and without me and have always told me they got good service and great food. The service maybe abit slow at times due to everything being cooked when you order, but very friendly server and staff. It is very rare, but if you are not happy with something please let them know at that time, they will correct it if need be. Altho, I ha... read more
why have they been around for so long? – been living in the neighborhood forever. went there about 15 years ago but don't remember my experience so i decided to try it again. they've been around for so long and there must be a reason for it. i don't know what that reason is. it must be some landmark by now, that's why. i ordered pasta with fried scallops and you can tell that those scallops were just taken out from the freezer. the service wasn't that great either. i guess you need to either look rich or look like someone fr... read more
