Great Service, Staff and Array of Products This store is truly phenomenal. Like the old fashioned hardware stores but with a modern flare. They have everything you need, a very knowledgeable staff and all around great service. I have a son with special needs and several years ago I needed something for his school to assist him with his daily coat room activities. I told the store owner, Linda Johnson, what I was looking for and identified a product display for example. She took the display down ad gave it to me and said she ... read more

Village True Value-an institution in Western Springs I have been shopping at the True Value Store in Western Springs for over 35 years. I find the sales and cashiers people extremely knowledgeable and always helpful. The owner, Linda Johnson, follows on her Father, Ed Johnson's footsteps and does a fabulous job, both in the store and also the Community. Linda has supported a program, at Christmas, providing lights and ornaments for donated Christmas Trees, to those who could not afford a tree, at little or no cost to our cha... read more

A hardware store in the best tradition. When we moved here 46 years ago, this hardware store already had the reputation for being a reliable community resource. It still is under the ownership of Linda Johnson, the daughter of the founder. The staff is knowledgeable and knows where the things are that are not on open display - and there is lots of that. They even have a service operation in back to fix appliances, window panes, screens, etc.

greed Over all I like this hardware store. Prices are extremely high with the economy ? GREED? One thing i don't like is to hear the owner screaming over the intercom to get help at the register. Ouch!

The Owner and who she has work for her I have found many of the floor sales people very helpful, and the cashiers to be able to ring me up very fast so I can go work on whatever project it is I am working on that day. I however very much dislike the owner of the store Linda Johnson. She is very rude to the people who work for her. She feels the need to correct her employees over any mistake they make no matter how insignificant. So many things that she does she feels the need to do so loud that you feel uncomfortable and wan... read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE DO NOT TAKE YOUR SNOWBLOWER OR LAWNMOWER HERE FOR SERVICE. Negative Stars on this one. They had both our snowblower and lawnmower for over a month and both were returned not working. They did "reworks" on both of them and still came back not working. After about 5 "reworks" on our snowblower and over $350 later, our snowblower still does not work. We had it looked at by Sears and were told they put it together wrong and would cost $400 to fix! We complained and we decided to give them one more try to fix it.... read more

My family has been shopping here for over 20 years. But the once great hardware store has become dingy and mouse droppings liter the shelves, products, and floor.I'm gonna give it another chance because I feel strongly about shopping local and supporting a female-owned business. But all the dirt, dust, and mouse droppings are unacceptable!
