We’re locals and wanted to try out a new spot, but we will not be coming back. The restaurant interior is dirty and poorly maintained, with ripped booth seats and little piles of spilled food left on the floor. The waitresses were very nice, but out simple meals (eggs and bacon) took over 30 minutes to arrive. The price is also very high for plain diner food. If you’re looking for a solid diner with value I suggest you go to Budget Cafe in SLO or Fatcats in Avila instead, both are far better for less money. We’ll be sticking... read more
So far this spot has not disappointed us. The biscuits are soft and fluffy, we tried the homemade cinnamon roll (amazing by the way) and im fairly certain it was made as we waited because it came out warm and soft and not hard or stale. Chicken fried steak is always a great portion which me an hubs now split. Today did take a while but the waitress came by multiple times to check on us. (Update) 5/28/26 still great food. Today we got in just in time before the rush
Food was delicious and fresh! Staff has the old school hospitality and couldn't have felt more welcomed. I'll definitely be coming back!
First time having breakfast @ village cafe great experience overall customer service was a fenomenal and the breakfast love it I would definitely recommend this cafe
I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I walk by it every Sunday on my way to church. The food was delicious! Tasted so homey and comforting. The servers were nice ladies too. My French toast was so yummy as was the potato skillet. Would definitely recommend and would return! It’s a hole in the wall type spot with great breakfast.
