they close too early! – Stopped in here because the menu looked nice, only to find out that they close rather early on Friday nights. However, the very nice bar staff stuck around to serve us a few beers, so they definitely get aa thumbs up from me on that!!

Great food but the service not as good. – Village Burger Bar has some of the best hamburgers I myself have ever had, not to mention their sweet potato fries! The one thing that keeps this place from being Highly Recommended by me.....their service. The people behind the register are very short with you. Ask a question and they look at you like you just spoke to them in a foreign language. Ask them to repeat something and forget it, you get the eye roll, and a sigh. A couple of times, I have waited 20-30 minutes for my food d... read more

Good food, but you pay for it – The burgers here are very good, and the french fries (especially the sweet potato ones) are among the best in town, but you more than pay for the quality. The location is great, right in the midst of the West Village facing a row of townhomes. Certainly worth patronizing, but a little too expensive and and hipster to be frequented very often.

Best Burger in Town – I have never had a burger so good. Not sure what is laced inside but these babies are great. Do not miss this establishment next time you are in West Village.

Best Burger! – These are the best burgers I've ever tasted. My husband and I stumbled across this while looking for another restaurant. The line was long (at lunch time) and isn't really set up for long lines so you could end up waiting outside the door if it's too long. It's a pretty small venue and it did take a while for our food to come (again during a lunch rush.) But the taste of that burger has us coming back. It's a place where you order your food and then seat yourself while you wait for them to bring your food.

Upscale mom and pop burger joint at West Village with salads and wine by the glass. – In Short Sleek as a loft with poured cement floors, yet comfortable, this burger spot comes from husband-wife Mike and Susan Matta, who owned a branch of Celebrity Bakery before striking out on their own. They use fresh-ground beef, not frozen, and unique toppings: cheddar, Swiss, or blue cheese with avocado and bacon. The menu also has panini sandwiches, mesclun-mix salad, and housemade apple praline pie. Sweet potato fries are nearly as p... read more
