I had 3/4 inch solid red oak flooring on the main floor of my house and had a water leak in the kitchen. After having the leak repaired, the damaged materials removed and adjacent materials dryed out and treated with antimicrobial spray, I called Viking to replace and refinish the the affected areas - hardwoods, baseboards, insulation, drywall and painting. Twenty years after using Viking to refinish our hardwood floors, we elected to use them again and the end result was perfection. Our floors are red oak and had a darker stain (early American) applied 20 years ago. This time around, we were looking to achieve a lighter, more natural look and we settled on a stain color called Weathered Oak with a water based finish vs. oil based.
