I reached out to Victim Services seeking support for trauma therapy related to abuse I suffered as a child and teenager. Despite my specific request, I was denied funding for therapy because I had been awarded compensation over 15 years ago from the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board—not even from Victim Services itself. Would not recommend dealing with this office or resource. Such a let down using this service. Dena was unhelpful and downright rude, showing no empathy, sensitivity, advocacy or professionalism.
