I previously left the review below around two years ago and wanted to provide an update given the recent one star reviews given that my experience does not reflect what is being reported. I recognize noise level can depend on your neighbors but I have always found the complex very peaceful - as someone who went to UCSB and had to live in horribly loud apartments in Isla Vista, I recognize how incredibly peaceful this complex is in comparison. This is the loudest apartment complex I have ever lived at. Every single day my daughter is woken up from her nap by something. Today it’s pressure washing the neighbors stairs by maintenance. Some days it’s multiple loud barking dogs. Most days it’s slamming of dumpster lids or the trash trucks dropping the dumpsters. There is a CONSTANT flow of screaming neighbors walking around the complex. Dogs constantly bark. Maintenance and hired contractors are always yelling across the complex to eachother. Beautiful floor plans, but that is all that's good about via ventura. The management company named "Fusion" is probably the worst management company I have ever had to be involved with. They border the line between what is illegal/legal in terms of fees and rent increases. There have been MANY complaints about them, and there is a current LAWSUIT that has been filed against them for their illegal practices! Two stars for the property itself. It's old but in a nice neighborhood with a beautiful bank of very large eucalyptus trees along the front. Zero stars for property management and the deceitful tactics they use. I know my lease inside and out and I'm aware of tenants rights. I have to call them out all the time for trying to sneak in fees. The only way they back off is when I mention a lawsuit. They also grossly mismanage funds.
