Located in the East Village, this simple restaurant named 'Peace Avenue' in Italian has sidewalk tables and their bruschetta is a 'must-order' while looking at the menu. They have a wide selection of wine as well as a better-than-average amount of panini, antipasti, salads and pastas. Most of the menu presents gifts from the Roman kitchen, with panino names such as the Fontana di Trevi, Trastevere and Colosseo, it's no secret where the owner's heart and mind reside.

Nice customer service, bad food – Went in a group of 6 and tasted each other's dishes. The bean soup was just a big bowl of beans and water. The lobster ravioli...almost couldn't find the lobster. One dish (forgot what it's called) came out like a microwaved dinner. Their bruschettas and salads are pretty good.
The place has a different soul! – We use to go to Via Della Pace twice a week or more a couple of years ago when they still had an Italian Chef. Then, what a mistake, we decided to go back on a friday night to really get disappointed: Here is the young and inexperienced new staff and vibes to "welcome" our party of 4: A very loud, hyper and rude young manager from Rome that works as bartender ( a note for the ownership; kind of odd for a manager to also work the bar...you figure!) He totally ignored us for long time wile was ... read more
Very pleasant summer lunch at outside table – A group of 4 of us enjoyed an excellent lunch at an outside table. Their side of the street is in the shade by noon, so it was really quite pleasant on an August day. All our food, bread, sandwiches and salads were very tasty and filling. We did not try any of their desserts as we were too full on seconds of bread! We had Pantheon salads (chicken), a chicken sandwich, a Romana bruschetta, and lasagne. The waitress checked on us just often enough. We noticed the eclectic choice of... read more
Super live music every monday night!! – Last monday there were a great Jazz concert downstairs. They play in Via della pace every monday night! I'll definetely come back. No cover, great live music, intimate ambiance, good food. It's rare in NY!! Great place to bring a girl or to chill with friends! :)
Change the music and I'll be back. – We had dinner there today. The food was GREAT, the atmosphere was GREAT, the service was GREAT! It's an Italian restaurant, correct? Via Della Pace... But, in the background was blarring Mexican music! What the hell????????? I enjoy Mexican music very much but NOT at an Italian Restaurant! C'mon! I don't want to hear "Viva El Mariachi! by Nati Cano's Mariachi Los Camperos" while I'm eating Ravioli con la Ricotta! What were they thinking?
a perfect neigborhood eatery! – I love this place! Its very doggie friendly if you sit outside. The cute waiter even brought my dog a bowl of water. The bread is delicious and the brunch is awesome. If they would add an all you can drink mimosa special it would be perfect.
I was tricked by the name...... – I had the best memories of this little italian cafe back in the late 80s. . But the once beautiful, skechy staff was replaced for the plain and flat help that didn't help much. The decor and ambience was nothing special anymore and by the time the waitress came to the table i was in bad mood so I decided to order a tiramisu.. The once delicious italian dessert was dry and with a lack of mascarpone. Then I realized that Via Della Pace is not the old Caffe Della Pace i used to love. I was tric... read more
Keep walking by... – Although iI were pleased that this packed restaurant was able to seat our group quickly, the food was very disappointing. I was the most disappointed with my dish -- the rigatoni --which was highly recommended by the waitress (who I now believe doesn't have taste buds). It's supposed to be a house specialty, but was very dry and lacked sauce. They tried to disguise the bland, lukewarm pasta with melted cheese on top, which was also flavorless. The lobster meat in the ravioli could've been more fresh and ... read more
Nice Neighborhood Restaurant – The best thing about this place is the atmosphere because you feel like you could be in Italy. The menu choices also make you feel that way, but the food is average. The paninis and salads are probably the best choices. We'll continue to go there because we live next door and it's a nice place to hang out and have some wine.
