Brought my boy Max in after he got hurt on a hike with his pack. He had a laceration under his eye that needed stitches. Dr. Hooman took the extra step to listen to his heart, something wasn't right, so he did an EKG. That day I found out Max has an arithmia and if he went under anesthesia he might not wake up. Dr. Puccio and the team at Veterinary Surgical Center of Long Island are exceptional. My 13-year-old dog, Eva, had a large soft tissue sarcoma on her right hip. Dr. Puccio was calm, direct, and clear about what was realistic. She walked me through margins, recurrence risk, recovery, and what to watch for. There is a reason this is the only 5 star ER vet in Long Island / NYC / CT / NJ. This is the cleanest ER facility with truly the most compassionate people working there. We came here with our dog for something unrelated and one of their vets found a mass on his bladder. Within a week, they were able to take him for surgery. Dr. Puccio, Dr. Giffords, Albert, all of the front desk are incredible people.
