me and my father brought our family dog to this vet a couple of weeks ago cause our dog had twisted his stomach and was losing blood flow , they did very good at making sure he was comfortable but then tells me that the life saving surgery is 14 thousand dollars just to start it . we had about two hours to figure out what we were gonna do cause no one in my family had 14 thousand dollars sitting around . no one got approved for anything towards that amount even with a very good credit . someone in my family was able to use t... read more

Highly recommend not taking your pets here. We took our dog here on the weekend to get his eye looked at after being out in the field and suspecting something may have been inside. This has happened in the past due to him being a hunting dog. Dr. Mackey assisted with this. He was more than polite but was not thorough enough. He suggested sedation, but was more then willing to continue without it and utilize it if needed. Unfortunately, I never finished writing my review at the time of my visit, so now the names of the people at VEG ER who helped us navigate a very difficult situation have escaped me. I’ll simply say this: - The layout and facilities of VEG were optimal during a time of distress. - The staff were compassionate, honest, helpful, and understanding. - Our options were clearly explained to us ranging from absolute minimum to absolute maximum and everything in between. My sweet boy, Boulder, was sooooo sick and spent two nights at VEG Woodbury. The staff there was so kind and it was evident that he was being well attended to. He even got his own decor on his kennel which I got a kick out of. He usually has major “stranger danger” but I could tell he had become buddies with a couple of the staff by the time he was discharged. Thanks so much for taking care of my sweet fella!! He feels so much better.
