Was on the phone tonight with a struggling newborn pup after being told at 10:50pm to call back if anything happened. The receptionist at 1:56 am told me whoever spoke to me last gave wrong information and told me I was being dramatic when I begged to speak with someone and that the puppy would die. The puppy passed away shortly after. Empathy is not something they are trained in and she could have easily just went and asked the Vet the same way the young man at 10:50 PM did multiple times. Terrible service. We adopted a rescue dog from Mexico who had been hit by a car and requires a corrective femoral and tibial osteotomy. While our initial meeting with Dr Ringwood and our dog's MRI were fine and we were told that the surgery and care would cost approx $14,000, things spiralled downhill soon after. As the need was not immediate, we decided to wait until August to assess whether to proceed. We are incredibly thankful for the care we received at EVC in Toronto. We drove up from Northern Ontario as our cat needed a FHO surgical procedure on both hips. The staff and care was incredible. They understood how nervous and stressed we were. Additionally, they did all the leg work when it came to contacting our pet insurance and direct billing. We saw Dr. Ringwood and he was amazing.
