I was in a cycling accident and taken to SMH by rescue in February of 2024. I had broken many ribs, collapsed both lungs and broke my clavicle. Dr Vesco plated my broken ribs (which I had never heard of) in a 4.5 hour surgery. I also had three tubes entering my lungs through my side. Dr Vesco also performed three procedures to empty my lungs of fluid. Dr Vesco was very professional answering all questions asked. My first and only visit with Dr Vesco, he rambled on for 20 minutes before telling me in other words that I was not a candidate for Lung Cancer surgery. Then he described a procedure he recommended to see if my cancer had spread to lymph nodes. But he ordered a different surgery and never informed me. This was discovered when at hospital for pre-op testing. Not sure what happened, but hospital nurse said don't sign consent form and she would contact Dr office to fix this. I was brought to Sarasota Memorial in. Very bad condition..I had taken a nasty fall down concrete steps…I didn’t realize it at the time but had broken ribs..there was no real pain for a couple of days and then fever and great pain hit..my wife rushed me to the emergency facility…hospital personnel immediately knew I had a serious problem as water had gotten into the cracked rib area and now had turned infectious…they had to announce a code blue on me twice…Dr Vesco entered the picture..told myself..wife..daughter..I was in h... read more
Dr. Vesco is Excellent and easy to understand because he says it like it is ! He is a Very Intelligent Surgeon , his Gifted Hands Saved My Life . I Highly Recommend Dr. Vesco . Every Doctor , Nurse and other Patients that I spoke with are in total agreement . You will not find a better Surgeon and Doctor .
I came to the hospital very sick. Dr Vesco and his great staff visited me every day and kept me informed on my progress and what would happen next. I feel great,, still recovering but already better then I have in years. I'm so very grateful. Could not ask for better
Thanks to Dr. Vesco's skills I feel like I got my life back. I had a very very large hiatal hernia that had allowed my stomach to attach to one lung making breathing difficult with any type of exertion. Dr. Vesco was able to repair it using minimally invasive surgery. I had previously been told it was too large to repair using this type of surgery. I was very fortunate to have found Dr. Paul Vesco. He is an extremely skilled and compassionate surgeon. He was very thorough in explaining the surgery process to me, alleviating my fears. I highly recommend him and his team. Thanks to his PA, Spencer, also for his knowledge, care and compassion.
I was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis in March of 2020 CT Scan showed a mass on my thymus gland. Dr Vesco performed a Thymectomy on me in April. OMG , this guy is a Rock Star - he robotically removed my gland along with the mass using only 3 small holes Absolutely no pain , in and out of the hospital in 3 days and walking the beach on the fourth. Don’t bother looking elsewhere ( outside Sarasota ) for a better surgeon , this guy is the real deal. Thank you Dr Vesco , your entire staff and Sarasota Memorial Hospital ????

Dr.Vesco is the total professional, from my first office visit, where he thoroughly explained all of the aspects of the procedure he would perform, to his "bedside manner" after, he couldn't have made me feel more secure.I trusted Dr. Vesco with my life, and reccomend him without reservation.
