I spent about a year living in and out of this hospital while my mother battled and ultimately passed away from cancer. During this time my mom stayed on the 4th floor of the old tower and then passed on the 6th floor of the new tower. The nurses and staff on these floors made me feel as comfortable as I possibly could during this time and it meant the world to me. We spent four hours at the hospital in the middle of the night with our 18-month-old, who had a high fever and a strange rash. There was only one doctor on the shift, and we were never seen. It was seriously understaffed. If you’re not in immediate danger, wait until an urgent clinic opens.
I am from Revelstoke and was sent to VJ to have a hysterectomy due to some internal happenings. The team here made me comfortable (I get pre surgery anxiety) they made me feel cared for, the staff overnight helping me move around, and staying with me throughout the pain and nausea were so kind. I appreciate you wonderful humans for your compassion during my weakest moments!
Stop pushing people to take vacines and stuff. Give it a break.
Honestly living in Vernon 35+ years it deserves more then 5 stars. Yes Canadian health care is difficult but I've been to many a hospital as a walking hurricane and Vernon is rather easy to navigate for what it is. Staff have always been friendly even in difficult times. Only thing that sucks is impark and that's unrelated.
