We were on a 2 1/2 week trip through the West when our 1997 Eurovanâ??s water pump decided it had had enough going over Vail Pass. After a quick search of our options, we had it towed from Copper Mountain to Boulder based on the reviews I had read. And thank the stars we did!! It is d.ifficult to find a reliable garage. However, this week Verner's Auto Service earned my business for life! I took my VW Westfalia in for a gea shifting problem. Verner's Auto Service has taken care of our 2003 Eurovan since the day we bought it(2014). Their service has extended the van's life and our camping road trips (6K miles this spring). Big or small, the work/repairs have been done carefully and in a timely way, including sending to Germany for parts not available in the US. We would never take the van to any one else. Integrity is the word I would use for all aspects of Verner's business and services.

Based upon my experience, I'd RECOMMEND (5 stars) Verner's without reservation. While driving our Vanagon Westfalia from British Columbia to Michigan, it refused to start. I happened to be in Denver at the time and had trouble finding someone who could/would provide immediate service to get us back on the road. Long-story-short, Verner could do it the day I called (vs. four days out). I had the van towed to Boulder from Denver at a very reasonable rate and had it back that night. Verner Rocks! My son and I had VW Eurovan issues while vacationing in Rocky Mountain National Park from Oregon. Verner instantly got us in and diagnosed the problem. This was a problem that a mechanic in Oregon had misdiagnosed and failed to fix properly prior to our trip. Verner had us back on our vacation within 6 hours! Verner is Amazing! Not only has he taken great care of my car for over 6 years, he also helped me navigate legal issues surrounding my vehicle. He is kind, and direct, as well as a brilliant man of his trade. His team is competent and knowledgable. Verner's is wonderful. They serviced my 13 year old Jetta for most of its life and now they are the only place that I would take my Audi. In fact, Verner gave me advice when I was selling my Jetta and when buying my Audi. He was extremely helpful. These guys are honest and trustworthy. There are at least 3 occasions when I was told by oil change folks that I needed repairs and when I took it to Verner, he took at look and either disagreed or let me know I had much longer than I was told to fix the problem. I brought my 1999 vw jetta to verners on recommendations of the dealership. My car was having problems that two other shops could not diagnose. Verner's was amazing. I believe their knowledge of VWs makes them unmatched to any other shop. They took their time and went through every aspect of the car and found all of the problems. They kept me informed throughout the process and gave me honest answers. Verner and Tim are masters at what they do and resurrected my car while keeping to the budget. I am a customer for life.

I've used Verner 3 times for my Jetta. The good: he and his staff are friendly, approachable and honest. The pricing is fair/on par with other VW repair services in Boulder. The not-so-good: It seems to take 20-30 minutes to pay for and get your car. I've sat at the counter for literally 30 minutes while he shoots the breeze with someone else, poking around an old Vanagon, discussing the weather, etc. I don't mean to seem impatient, and I understand a first-come, first-served policy, but I find it somewhat rude to make someo... read more
