I moved here because of the reviews so it felt important to write one about my experience. Pros: underground parking, proximity to T, maintenance staff are efficient and respectful Cons: noises affecting my sleep were terribly handled for months (details below), building 3 elevator stops working frequently, fire alarm has gone off in the middle of the night a few times, management (not maintenance) has been rude and dismissive about complaints, trash room is right in front of the elevator on the first floor of building 3 so ... read more
DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. We loved it for the first two months or so but then it went completely downhill from there... And I can tell you all of the reviews about people doing drugs in front of the building is true. We just left an apartment that was right over that area. We never used our patio because of it. And we called cops multiple times because of fights outside our window... oh and someone urinated behind our building and a homeless guy slept on the couch in our building. We have been happy living at the Velo for almost 2 years. Great access to the orange line for an easy commute. Great amenities and modern / up-to date apartments. New management - Kevin, Chris, Joe - are great. They have been actively trying to build community and are super friendly, helpful & responsive.
Joseph has been extremely helpful in the moving in process! Maintenance requests are handled in a timely fashion and all my questions were answered within a business day. They even fixed some extra work orders I had not even put in the portal yet. Absolutely love the apartment and the new security systems installed are super convenient for letting visitors in / seeing who’s outside the door. My floor is quiet and I have no complaints so far !
