I went to VCA emergency and they pushed me hard to euthanize my middle aged dog. They misdiagnosed they bullied, used aggressive tactics to pay $$$. They made a diagnosis without one x-ray or any blood work done. I wanted to start with some tests then decide from there what course of action to take, I was told no, it was all in or nothing. My choices according to the VCA vet were an $8,000+ hospital stay with no guarantee that my dog would survive, or to euthanize her. Unbelievable- My wife and I are two Drs. We owned a 15 YO Vizsla He had issues that caused him to loose 15 lbs. His catarct rendered him to not see well. We brought him to VCA to put him down. AMAZING experience. Private room. They fed Maxi chicken and rice as a last meal. Tey had Hershey kisses for Max. We were with Max the entire time. I think they’re a horrible animal hospital for any kind of animal they do not offer help with bills that are outrageous $153 for them to see a nine month old hamster to give her conjunctivitis medication and then not 123 number to call to report the VCA South Weymouth
Extremely dissatisfied with this place. Would not recommend any pet lover to bring their precious pets to these bloodsuckers. They don’t care about the animals. Just the money they can bleed from you. It’s a shame they let my daughters dog Wesson suffer. He’s only 3 years old. They didn’t even have compassion.
All this place cares about is money and nothing else, i have had nothing but bad experiences with them this year and i do not recommend them at all...over the summer my dog hurt herself and was bleeding bad and they had me waiting outside holding my bleeding dog for about 20 mins before comming out even though it was an emergency kept her for like 6 hours never called me to update me (i had to keep calling and no one would update me) and then in the end tried to charge me like $500 bucks for things they did that i never cons... read more
It is so true that they are more concerned about how much money they can get out of you than anything else. I had two bad experiences with them and will not go back. A few years ago we brought in our unresponsive cat that as it turns out was already dead on arrival and was charged $400 to basically look at him and try to revive him. The Doctors and techs are incredible, the admin on the other-hand care more about pushing pets out the door (whether they received help or not). Incestuous admin, which creates a toxic flow of new hires. Go somewhere where the Doctors don't have to watch their backs 24/7, and they can care for the pets instead.
