Specialties Vbar & Café over the past 15 years, it has become a Greenwich Village staple coffee house/living room/makeshift office/bar to so many. History Established in 2000. The original Vbar&café opened with one employee on Sullivan Street in 2000 as a café by day and wine bar by night. We are inspired by our city - its scale and variety, and yet the unique sense of intimate connection.

Excellent mellow scene – An excellent bar with a fantastic friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. Whether you're looking for a glass of quality wine and a chance to unwind after a rough workday, or just want to hang out with some friends and talk somewhere where you can actually hear what they're saying, it's a great location.
Cozy cafe by day, cool and casual wine bar by night. Both work. – The Scene Sleepy NYU students shuffle in for coffee and a croissant before morning classes, or linger over a newspaper and ham-and-fontina panini at lunch. But when the sun goes down, the sandwich press cools and crates of selected reds and whites line up on the bar. Off the beaten path... – Totally stumbled into this place by accident after checking a friend's gig at the Lions Den across the street. This is a great place, but easy to walk right past. It has a homey feel, good assortment of beer and wine. The bartender was an extremely nice guy, makes you want to go back. Atmosphere is laid back, very relaxed. Perfect place to go for a nice relaxing evening.
V-Bar ROCKS! – I always go to the V-Bar. The young bartenders are the best. Especially the BALDING BRO! Dude, the V-Bar is so chill and awesome. They've got the best croissants anywhere in this city, and I love all the staff, they're so friendly and great. I really can't recommend the V-Bar enough.
really small/expensive – I have a closet bigger than this place. $6 a guiness. they have to be kidding.
fresh_10012 – $12 for Prosecco!! And not even a generous glass. For a venue with budget conscious decor and a few wooden stools they charge like they were premium hotel bar.
Outstanding Wine Bar – I've been here several times for a late-night glass of vino. The atmosphere is great - very mellow, dark lighting, candles..... The service is efficient, casual and entertaining. Have not yet tried the food, but as a neighborhood bar, it's wonderful!
