Jack, John and the entire crew listened to our general idea. Then they shared their professional opinion which greatly enhanced our basic concept into a "dreams-come-true!" Our patio, fire pit and landscape fit perfectly into the landscape. Little did Jack' know that his suggestion in using some cobblestone made my heart happy because it was one of my Dad's favorite stones. This team does it right!
We had just moved to Maine and bought a relatively new home down in Kennebunk. The yard grass was weak and there had been very little done in the way of landscaping. After the first big rain storm we found that one of the reasons we did not have grass in large portions of the back yard was because of standing water. I hate to resort to negative reviews, but we are very frustrated working with Black Bear. Our landscaping project got off to a good start and our new sidewalk looks great, but some of our shrubs and trees were not planted properly (I know this from experience) and the irrigation that was set up was inadequate. We now have a large dead rhododendron and 1/3 dead white spruce and a system that provides inadequate water. John and Jack did an amazing job with design and walking me through the process. They completed a front walkway and garden bed in 2022 and I had to have them come back in 2023 put in a patio and walkway in my back yard since i was so happy with the work. It could not have been possible without the amazing crew Kevin, Nick and Joey. They were so lovely to my five year old neighbor who wanted to know exactly what they were doing!
I wish other contractors were as responsive as Jack and the crew at Black Bear. Jack is always available by text and phone during any project has performed for us. We have always found his staff to be professional and friendly while working on different projects. They even took the time to carefully move and return Halloween Lights and Decorations on trees, shrubs, and path that needed some late season trimming and weatherization.
