One of the worst experiences I've ever had at an ER. I went to the trauma center with a hypertensive crisis with a BP over 220/120 due to a severe allergic reaction to medication. I sat in the ER waiting room for 7 years at that level of BP. It was only when I asked them to recheck my BP because I wanted to leave that I got a room and treatment since my BP went higher to 230/120. During that 7 hours they took blood, did a chest x-ray, and EKG but not once did they address lowering my BP for 7 hours until I finally got a room... read more
I had a terrible car accident and came Into the ER trauma. From the moment I entered until I was discharged I had an amazing experience. Every person was professional and kind and they were very thorough. This is not my first experience there as my mother has dementia and we have made several trips there. Each visit was extraordinarily wonderful
Sadly i have had the unfortunate experience of having visited many hospitals because of my health, but this hospitals ER has to be the worst, i had a family member go there with chest discomfort and had run 103° fever for 2 days straight before finally deciding to go to hospital, my family member sat there for now going on 4 hours and noone has seen him, i made a phone call to Emergency Room and i was told by a staff member they are understaffed, this can not be for real, so patients suffer because an understaffed hospital??... read more
Is there any oversight or accountability at this hospital? Triage nurse is incredibly rude. I don't know if its a staffing shortage or the staff itself, but the wait times are beyond unacceptable. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, they have been rated at 1 star for years and nothing has been done. Who is responsible for the most urgent and important service in the city of Poughkeepsie? We have an emergency room that should be called the - we don't care waiting room. Please improve your community is counting on you!
