I saw Dr. Varela for both a knee and hand problem recently. Both times he was caring, concerned and efficient. Did not order unnecessary tests and explained my conditions clearly and completely. I highly recommend.
I had the worse experience with Dr. Varela. I had a joint replaced in my index finger a year ago and it was worse than when I came to him. He couldn't tell me what was wrong and really didn't care either, told me to get a second opinion. I got two and both Dr's agreed that the wrong joint was in my finger. The finger had deviated from my hand laying on my thumb. A different Dr redid the finger with correct joint and was successful!! I wouldn't go to Dr Varela for anything!!
