Really Good Thai Food, Great Lunch Menu – Vanida has really good Thai food! The food is very flavorful, yet not overpowering (as some Thai food can be). I go there for their lunch special, you get to choose 2 items with steamed rice, and soup or salad for $7, now that's cheap! I really enjoy their Pad Thai, and Yellow Curry Chicken and the most heavenly soup I've EVER tasted, the Chicken Soup (Tom Kha). Friendly service, reasonable prices, one of the best Thai's around!!!! – Still delicious!!!! I just recently moved back to the outer environs of Taraval. I lived on this stretch from 1996 to 2001. Moved out of state and now back again. It was a most welcome reunion to be back at Vanida Thai. The gai kapraw (chicken basil) is still my favorite off their excellent menu. Also, got reunited with the tofu with peanut sauce. Staff's still very friendly. Am a regular, AGAIN!!!
My Favorite Thai Restaurant – My wife is Thai and this is her favorite Thai restaurant, especially when the owner is cooking. We eat here at least once a week sometime twice (delivery). My favorite is the yum nua nom tok (spicy beef salad). The lab gai (chicken salad) is good too. Stay away from the fish cakes though, for some reason they are awful. you can never go wrong ordering Pad Thai and the angel wings are scrumptious.
Tasty Thai! – My husband & I LOVE this place! We moved to the Sunset from the S.Bay 3 years ago and were so happy (as we are Thai Fans!) to have this wonderful spot around the corner from us. We eat there quite often, and sometimes even have a hot yummy meal delivered! The eggplant is spicy & superb and the soups phenomenal! The service is friendly. If you love Thai, this is a must TRY!!!
Superb! Our favorite Thai! – This place looks like a hole-in-the-wall, but the food and service is superb!!! I've been to many Thai restaurants in the Bay area, but this is my favorite. And my wife's, too. The food was fresh, very flavorful, and mildly spicy as we requested. (My wife's idea, I'd go for the real thing...) Prices were very reasonable, too.
Lovely service at Vanida – My first time at the restaurant after seeing it on the newspaper. The service was GREAT! A lovely young lady seated me and my companian. We were greeted with a great smile on her face. I didn't know what to order since it was my first time at a Thai restaurant. The waitress suggested some of their best dishes. The food was GREAT! Yes, GREAT!!! Thank you.
