Not fun. Nowhere you want to be, believe me. The opposite of a destination, this place will take away your rights, possibly for life, and label you, if you state to someone you have had thoughts of harming yourself or others, or meet other criteria. You could be stuck inside against your will for weeks.
If you feel in danger of hurting yourself- please go. Stay alive. If you can wait, avoid this place. If you need therapy you wont find it here. They are holding cells. There were no doors on the bathrooms just 3/4 lengths of fabric, the room doors were open at night so you feel fully on display because you are. It very loud. Some people compared it to county jail. Also... read more
My stay at Vandy psychiatric was a joke. I was "voluntarily admitted". Everyone is right, there is no communication. Each day you meet with "doctors" who just ask how your night went & why you're there. After I poured my heart out to these people, they then tell you they'll try to make sure you get a good night's sleep (without actually helping you sleep lol) & then the same thing the next day. No matter the severity of your issues, you're judged for not going down to eat & judged for not hanging out in the group room full ... read more
