I spent three months living at VUMC MCE on the 4th Floor under the care of the MFM team due to a high-risk pregnancy. I can honestly say, without a doubt, that I had the best care. All of the staff, from the nurses and care partners to cleaning and nutrition, were nothing short of phenomenal. I was in an almost constant state of anxiety, and they exhibited such kindness, compassion, and patience with me. This a little sad to see one of the best hospitals go to hell and not have the money put back into it properly. Everything is taped together. Not even with duck tape sad to say scotch tape. Coming from a cleaner this place is disgusting. Blood on the walls and tables and poop going down the front of the toilet from previous guest left in the rooms. My sister's surgery was scheduled for 6:30 a.m. we left for the hospital at 5:30a.m. and arrived on time. After waiting and waiting, at 8 a.m. we asked about her surgery. They informed us the surgery had been rescheduled for 10a.m. They did not even have the courtesy to inform us of this change. We had to go ask. Turns out, they changed the time last Friday, but failed to tell the patient. "Well, it was Friday afternoon " was their excuse. Extremely inconsiderate of our time.
