We spent 152 challenging days here in the NICU & I wouldn’t have wanted my daughter any where else. While some of the doctors/ nurses weren’t my cup of tea my daughter still received the utmost best care. 10/10!

We spent 76 incredibly challenging days at the Vanderbilt NICU, where we faced some of the most difficult moments of our lives. While we deeply appreciated the care we received, there were some troubling experiences along the way. Imagine caring for a baby for almost a year, continuing to provide care still, and throwing all of his belongings in the trash. Imagine calling the (poor) parents who have to suffer through having a baby in the NICU for over a year and telling them “so yeah we threw out all of your baby’s stuff since we had ants.” Imagine not offering any way to make it right after throwing out well over $500 worth of patient belongings. Imagine your child and your family dealing with that.

My son was born 7 weeks early via emergency c-section due to health complications. His care was fantastic initially but very quickly became how soon can we get him discharged. The medical teams seem to be on totally different pages and the information does not seem to be communicated between staff. We have felt nothing but pressure to discharge our son asap. Even though no one seems to be capable of reaching the surgical team to establish a surgery date to have a g-tube implanted. I want my son home more than I’ve ever wante... read more
