This is the first department at Vanderbilt that I have not liked working with. I will say that one my in office appointment was fine. Communication is horrible with this office. When calling, you leave a message with an answering service type of person. They relay the message, and it takes 24-48 hours for a return call. Directions given over the phone are very vague, but when following up, they act as though you intentionally didn’t follow directions. It is hard to follow directions that were never given. If I could give 0 stars I would. I was highly disrespected by one of the specialists here that saw my special needs daughter. I asked for her to please be transferred to another GI doctor either within the same location or another location. She had a new GI doctor appt made for around 12pm today and someone just called and told me they cancelled it last minute because this doctor isn’t accepting transfer of care patients. I am so so so upset with this place.

She asked lots of questions and listened to everything we had to say regarding the reason for our visit. She explained things thoroughly as she talked us through everything as we made a plan. Schedu... read more

Be wary, this office told us they would help us transition with our son to a new doctor. They did not explain how to get on a new pharmacy payment program or what the process is of approval. They discharged him before we had an appt set up for a new infusion or location approved. They refused to answer basic questions when we asked for guidance and showed no compassion in the process whatsoever. I am appalled at how we were treated during this process. They want to talk a good game about patient rights, transparency, empower... read more
