In 2009 Dr. Mathews performed surgery to correct a hallux limitus on my left foot. The bunion had caused pain and severely restricted my activities. After rehabilitating my foot, I was able to resume my usual exercise regime, including running and weight training, as well as numerous other vigorous activities. I went to Dr. Mathews sixteen years ago, when I was 19, with very developed bunions in both of my feet. I was in constant pain and needed a permanent solution in order to gain enjoyment out of my life as a young woman. Not being able to walk for longer than 20 minutes without horrible foot pain did not suit my lifestyle! I have been a patient of Dr. Mathews for at least 30 years, and now live more than an hour’s drive away from his office but wouldn’t go anywhere else. He is an excellent doctor, both quick and efficient and has always been able to cure my various foot problems. Most recently I had a lot of pain above my right arch.
