TVC loves barriers to getting care. Absolutely bonkers that you require a referral to see a specialist that I’ve been established with and have seen within three years. Tried filing a grievance and nothing came of it except a recommendation to get a referral or seek care elsewhere that does not require a referral. This explains their F rating on Better Business Bureau. 15 formal complaints and a failure to respond to 14 of them.
Update: followed response to Vancouver clinic below and “filled out their online form”. Email response to the form this morning confirmed they will not take me as a patient due to who my secondary insured is. They no longer will see you in urgent care unless “you have some other connection” with the clinic. I take that to mean a primary care or referral to a specialty from your PC. I was told it’s a new thing, as I’ve been to their urgent care before and was seen with no problem. No mention of this great new progressive policy on their website or when I checked online. If I was rating the medical staff, I would rate at least a 4 star. However, this is a rating for the business. I was informed 2 weeks ago that the Vancouver Clinic will no longer accept me as a patient because of who my secondary insurance carrier is. This has nothing to do with any unpaid bills or any denials. My primary insurance has always covered all services. I was told this was the policy - no exceptions.
